Our Programs

At the Divine Sent Food Cupboard, we aim to provide a 5-7 day supply of food on a monthly basis to people in need who live in the Oxford, PA and surrounding areas. This includes nutritious food obtained through the state, in collaboration with the Chester County Food Bank, as well as canned and nonperishable items obtained through food drives and donations.

We participate in government programs for clients who are below 150% of the poverty level. Regardless of qualification to receive government food assistance, donated food may be available through the Divine Sent Food Cupboard upon completion of the Self Declaration of Need Form. All food programs are equal opportunity.

Gleaning and Growing Program

The Gleaning and Growing program grows fresh fruits and vegetables in four raised bed gardens (3 ft x 20 ft x 4 ft wooden boxes), thereby promoting better nutrition for people who are in need of adequate, healthy food. This program started with the support and guidance provided by the Chester County Food Bank Raised Bed Garden program. If you enjoy gardening and would like to volunteer to help with this program (we could not do this without you!), please contact us.

Farmers Unite to Stop Hunger! Program

The Farmers Unite to Stop Hunger! program distributes fresh eggs and produce received from local farmers to people in need. We are incredibly grateful for their support. If you are a farmer in the Oxford, PA area who would like to feed the hungry, please contact us.

Supplemental Children’s Program

We meet the needs of hungry children by providing additional food (breakfast, lunch and snacks) when school is not in session. During the school year, families rely on a State program to provide free breakfasts and lunches for their children. When school is not in session, these families struggle to feed their children adequate, nutritious food. We are here to help and invite you to join us. Please consider donating food. A list of the most wanted items requested by children is available by clicking here.

Nutrition Education Program

A Nutrition Education Program is provided to help understand the role of nutrition in the health of the family by learning how to make healthy food choices, how to prepare nutritious food, and how to use their limited resources to promote a healthier lifestyle.
